Candles
Candles can be used for decoration and for lifting up the atmosphere, but their most important role is – symbolic. They are an indispensable part of various religious ceremonies around the world: they accompany Christians from baptism until the departure into eternal life; for Buddhists, they represent the enlightenment of Buddha’s teachings; while Jews start and end the Sabbath and celebrate many holidays using candles.
Lighting candles is a particularly nice custom of remembering the deceased who now live an the eternal life, illuminated by the light of God. Although the Catholic Church has intended two holidays for that occasion, the 1st and 2nd of November, we can still light a candle for the deceased on any other day: on the anniversary of death, on a birthday or on some other day that is important to us.
If you are not able to do it, the candle will be lit on the grave in your name by the employee of POKOP funeral agency, and depending on your preferences and wishes, we can also place a rose or a larger floral decoration near the candle.
Our web shop features a large selection of different types of candles and lanterns that we deliver to the appointed place, as well as floral arrangements, bouquets and wreaths that will help you create an appropriate moment of memory, anniversary or a farewell for your loved one.
